Fund Texas Choice helps Texans get to their out-of-state abortion appointments by funding and coordinating travel, lodging, and other practical needs.

Yes, callers must already have an out-of-state appointment in order to receive assistance from Fund Texas Choice.  If you don’t have an appointment yet and aren’t sure how to find a clinic, visit  or  to search a nationwide database of clinics!

We do not pay for the procedure itself.  If you’re a Texan looking for procedure funding resources, please visit for resources for Texans or to find a list of other funding resources in the state you are traveling to.

If you need out-of-state travel assistance, please call our helpline at 1-512-900-8908 and leave a detailed message with your name, date and location of your out-of-state appointment, and your zip code.  If we’re able to assist with your travel, our Intake Associate  will return your call within 3 business days. Once we contact you to get the details of your out-of-state appointment and assess your travel needs, we assign you to a Trip Planner.  Your Trip Planner will be your point of contact and case manager before, during, and after your out-of-state appointment!  They’ll reach out to you to discuss your out-of-state travel needs and make an out-of-state travel plan.  Closer to your out-of-state appointment date, they’ll book all of your out-of-state travel arrangements (flights, hotel, gas funds, etc.) and send you your travel confirmation information.  During your trip, they’ll help coordinate on-the-ground travel arrangements to your out-of-state appointment and logistical support. Then we’ll make sure you’re able to make it home to Texas safely after your out-of-state appointment, and share any resources you may need for post-procedure support.

Due to high call volumes, FTC can’t guarantee out-of-state travel support for every person who calls.  But if we can assist with your out-of-state travel, we will try our best to return eligible requests for assistance within 3 business days.  If you do not receive a response from FTC within that time, please assume that we are unable to assist you with your out-of-state travel.

If we’re able to assist with your out-of-state travel, we’ll try our best to return your call within 3 business days.  Once we’ve offered assistance, your Trip Planner will contact you directly within 24 hours to work out a time to make your out-of-state travel arrangements!

We are able to arrange for most common types of out-of-state travel (flights, hotels, rideshares, gas funds).  Once you talk with your Trip Planner, y’all will decide the best out-of-state travel plan for you and how we can support that 🙂

Although we can book most out out-of-state travel for you so you don’t have to pay any upfront costs, we aren’t able to reserve rental cars for clients or pay for rental car fees up front.  We also do not provide volunteer rides. Your Trip Planner will discuss those details with you!
